The rest are partly cloudy days
Good job guy! 36 overcast days? That's a rather low amount, especially at this latitude. So, there are 237 cloud-free days or just sunny days? I don't think these 237 sunny days are totally clear of clouds, as the official number of clear days (days with at most 30 % of cloud cover) is 211 in Las Vegas, 212 in Phoenix and 242 in Yuma, some of the sunniest cities in the US. The actual number of clear days might be around 150 - 170 in Kennewick if I rely on these stats. However, these stats look well underestimated to me. I'm wondering how many cloud-free days there are in these sunny cities.
Honestly, I think we have to define precisely what is a sunny day and a cloudy day because this is unclear
Indeed, a sunny day does not equal a cloud-free day and a cloudy day doesn't seem to be the equivalent of an overcast day.
This heat wave is completely unprecedented. 90 degree highs in Kennewick is normal but 15+ straight 100+ degree days? I don't think it's ever happened before.

Yeah, it's currently as hot as some parts of the Desert Southwest, which doesn't really look usual.

The data are taken from the official web site. Sunny day is when the cloud cover is less than 30%. The past year has been extremely dry and sunny, so there could be fewer sunny days on a normal year.
