We have been in the colder period since 2009.

Have you? We have certainly been in the warmer period since mid 2013. Only a handful of months have been below average since then, mostly during summer.

I won't make a prediction because I'm not sure what the climate will be that far from now, in fact no one really knows for sure. The question is will the world continue warming or will the trend reverse itself? I think somebody should look back at this thread in 50 years and compare the predictions to what really happened.

No change in Finnish summers? Come on. The JJA means have already risen with 1C the last 15 year compared to the 81-10 normal period, and I don't know how much since the 61-90 period. Probably 2C. And western Russia maybe 1-2F in that scenario?

So now they suddenly start to get cooler again? What are they thinking?

Those climate model forecasts are all crap.

Look at this scenario (better view of your hemisphere)

Some of the scenarios for the year 2100 are truly horrific for here - like average highs in July over 40 C and desertification of the landscape, which we're already beginning to see.

I know I need to move - let's hope this climate change thing doesn't proceed any more rapidly than it is already. (Bites nails down to the quick, as we close in on 3 weeks of zero rain.)

Why do you think it's crap? It's here and I'm seeing the effects of climate change year by year. It's gotten hotter and drier here for the past 20 years, and it's gonna get a whole lot worse. I'm absolutely mortified at not being able to move north in time, too.

Time to take those blinders off and see what's really happening...
