Guns laws are a bit more restricted there, though--that's the only downside
Seems to me that Dean York and me are the only people here who have actually fired assault rifles and machine guns. We are both quite anti-gun too. Is it that you have to try one before you can reject them?

I wasn't really talking about all classes of firearms, necessarily. I was referring to guns more for their cultural importance. There's a strong element of self-reliance that goes naturally with gun ownership. As for the gun debate itself, yes, obviously guns can kill. However, that alone does not make responsible gun ownership a threat.
Ability to practice self-defense is probably the biggest one.
Widespread gun ownership is a reality in many parts of Middle America, and it works just fine. It has for a very long time. It would be contrary to tradition for the government to come in and confiscate all the guns. I'm not in favor of nanny states.
Ok, I can assemble and disassemble our assault rifle in 10 seconds. I can kill any target within 300 yards, This rifle that was given to me and as meant to kill with.
Boke, I don't want to do it.
