Growing up in the hot,dry summers of California, I became pretty acclimated. In my 20s, my perfect summer day had a high of 90 F (~32C), a low of 55 F (~12 C), with a nice afternoon breeze. Such days gave you the mildest, most pleasant evenings, but still cooled down enough for sleeping. Occasionally, we would get a late afternoon thunderstorm, which was just perfection.
High of 80 F, low of 60 F with dewpoint of 55-60 F...sunny with a few clouds and breezes from WSW of 10 mph. Thunderstorm only permissible at or after sunset.
Seems like folks like thunderstorms as much as I do. But in the western USA, they are actually fairly tame. Those heartland thunderstorms are something else. I would love to see one though. They must be a sight to behold, like a mountain rolling across the prairie.

I agree. We get plenty of thunderstorms here in FL (usually, this year has been **** in that category) but they're nothing compared to the storms from MO or KS or OK, etc. Would love to experience a storm out there.
