For us it depends what station you use and how close it is to the icy waters of Lake Michigan.

Not first 68F/20C but first 70F/21C days average occurrence

Lakeshore April 9th
6 miles inland March 26th
10 miles inland (about the distance ORD and MDW are from the lake) March 24th

In how many days might we expect our first day with temperatures in the 70s and 80s?

To some extent, it depends on your proximity to Lake Michigan. Chicago always experiences its first 70- and 80-degree temperatures in the spring, but the lake warms slowly and it retains the chill of winter for a long time. It inhibits warm spring weather. In the city's lakefront parks and recreation areas, on average, you can expect the season's first 70-degree day 72 days from now (April 9). About 6 miles inland, the count is 58 days from now (March 26), and 56 days (March 24) about 10 miles inland.

Unlikely to happen in the next 2 weeks, based on the forecast.

We have had 5 days over 20C since March 1st, with two of those being over 27C.

Any idea why London looks far more ahead in Spring that we do? Hint: did London happen to go down into single digits this winter?

Our trees are so deep in dormancy even after two 82F days and they still aren't budding much.

Most of our trees that were blossoming last week are now in leaf. Even the larger trees like chestnut and oak are coming into leaf or have large buds.

Single digit F temps would be getting into record cold territory. It normal doesn't go below 24-25f on the coldest winter night.

Our first 20c is usually in early April. The typical warmest day in April is 22c.

Maybe on April 1st, you'll get your first 20 °C.

Then back to sub 12 °C highs for the whole month april fool by the atmosphere!

Exactly. You get a spring looking countryside it seems quicker than we do. I would even bet our soil temps are higher at this point given the sun strength and mild temps we have had, but still your flowers and plants are ahead of us. I doubt your plants and trees even bother going into full dead as a doornail dormancy like our vegetation over here has to in order to survive winter.

20C isn't looking likely any time soon for London

Late April or early May. When London will reach 30C is a better poll question.

I predict July 7th for the first of the few 30C + days of the summer.
