Highest Temps in Spain (Europes first 40°C this year?)
I've noticed that Granada airport has regularly been among the hottest locations in Spain these past few days. I find it strange as it's relatively high up (yeah that's a big word) compared to the Guadalquivir valley. Is there some kind of a foehn wind from the mountain ranges south of there?
On the way to Miami earlier, I drove through intense sunshine, drizzle, three different intense downpours, a heavy thunderstorm and then back to intense sunshine when I got down there. Lol, gotta love South FL summer weather. Right now it's currently raining lightly outside with a temp of 77 F (25 C) and a 75 F dew point (24 C).
UPDATE...
Sctd showers and tstms have developed over the coastal
waters mainly east of Cameron, with additional activity beginning
to develop along and s of I-10. Convective temp has already been
reached or exceeded acrs portions of the area as of 10 am so
expect additional development over the next hour or so as the
area remains beneath a weak shear zone aloft. Convection expected
to spread north through the aftn as the seabreeze becomes active.
KLCH 12Z sounding shows precip water abv 2 inches and the deepest
moisture looks to be acrs sw LA/se TX compared with regional
soundings. Thus...some storms could be capable of brief heavy
downpours. Convection expected to diminish this evening with the
loss of daytime heating. Outside of storms, temperatures are
expected to climb to around 90, with lower 90s acrs cntl LA.
