No comparison to last year. March was sunnier than April and yet even March is below average sunshine wise.

Overall, a pretty interesting month with warm weather in the first half and with snow in the final few days, the latest snow since 1985. Unfortunately, no snow fell in Zagreb but nearby Ljubljana received 10 cm.

April 2016 in Rimini, Italy

This April has been quite dreary: windy, dull and very cloudy, with unseasonably cold rainy days in the last week.
Nighttime temperatures were mild, while daily highs weren't any "warm" apart from a short warm spell in the middle of the month.

Rimini-Miramare airport data (comparison with 1971-2000 averages):
Average high: 17.3°C (+0.4°C)
Average mean: 13.5°C (+1.6°C)
Average low: 9.4°C (+2.5°C)
Extremes
Highs: 13.0°C/24.3°C
Lows: 5.8°C/17.0°C
Precipitations: 32 mm (-21 mm)
Rainy days: 7 (exact average)
Mean humidity: 84%

April here in Trondheim started with a week warmer than normal, but from then it just got colder. The jet was south of us most of the month, bringing down cold air. So all in all this was seen as a pretty bad April, also because of the absence of any warm days.
So far in 2016 all months have been colder than last year.

Avg T: 9.0C (+0.4)

No predicted "wet spring" so far. Nothing wet in forecasts too. Dry as hell since the beginning.

April 2016 in Bingley

Mean max: 9.8C (-0.9)
Mean min: 2.1C (-1.1)
Mean: 6.0C (-1.0)
Rainfall: 75 mm (+3%)
Sunshine: ~135 hours (+13%)
Snowfall: 9 cm
Thunderstorms: 1

I'll remember this as a cold month mainly because of the very cold last week, the coldest late April weather since the 1980s. April is also one of the months (along with October) that you expect to be above average most years now anyway so anything below average is a bit of a shock. The snow on the 29th was probably the latest lying snow since 1979. Rainfall was above average for the sixth month in a row, even if only by a fraction.

Did anybody else apart from other British people have April colder than December (which was 10.1/4.9 here)? That isn't actually the first time it's happened, but it's never happened by so much before - needless to say a very rare event.

Not in my city, but in some coastal cities in Norway Dec indeed were warmer than April.

Ã…lesund, usually warmest town in Norway in winter:
December 9.3/3.3 with mean 6.3C
April: 9/2.5 with mean 5.5C

Also, Stavanger -Sola had mean for Dec (6.8C) warmer than April (6.6C), although avg max was warmer in April.
