The almost permanent cloud cover since 2006 probably helps quite a bit! Heathrow had a 17c low last July that would have been a 24c low had we used a midnight to midnight rather than 9pm-9am recording method.
I'm surprised that your May record high low is only 13.7c though.
Well, it looks like it's 14.1C now
Though Bingley is not well placed to get warm nights anyway: up north, inland, rural setting, 800 ft above sea level and on a hillside which presumably doesn't allow heat to get trapped etc.
Even the 14.1C is more or less in line with the record lows in other months, January's record high low is 8.7C and July's is 17.7C (there was also a freak 20.8C low in August 1990 which looks really dubious).
That's four monthly record highest lows in less than a year now, July, September, March and May all gone!
