The very notion of developing the land, which it already is by a giant margin, shows that once developed, you would see alot of ugly tan lawns in the winter, save for more of the Piedmont areas, but even then, newer lots are getting the warm season grasses planted there now.
It's heavily absurd to think that the South is not developed, as someone who has lived in Horry County for over a year. Ofc, if one has lived in an overdeveloped state like California or New York, one will have the ignorance and boldness to ever declare that the South is "not developed". It has plenty of pine plantations for lumber, farmlands everywhere, and new subdivisions popping up every week. Honestly, if one considered a true sense of quality of life, one would consider that the South has too much development, but most people really don't take the things into consideration.
