These climates are at the same latitude but very different. Which do you prefer?

I think Brookings is far superior because of the much milder winters... can grow Canary Island Date Palms there.. unlike Windsor

Windsor for overall more interesting weather and not as much cold rain and also MUCH nicer summers. Brookings can be pretty foggy.

Windsor is a near-perfect A-climate. Brookings a D-. So, Windsor it is.

I think this poll proves once and for all that this forum is dominated by cold weather fans

Not really, I voted for Windsor because it actually gets real summers (and thunderstorms) and I would put up with the winter just to get the summers. Brookings really gets no summer at all, its summers are like Buxton's, and the winters extraordinarily wet.

Windsor is comparable to Toronto, but if moving is as easy as 123 I would pick Vancouver or Victoria BC, especially Victoria BC as it's one of the popular retirement destinations, if not the most popular due to its milder climate.

Brookings OR is even milder than Victoria in the winter, so I would go for Brookings OR.

The extremely cold arctic air seems to shift around and will hit Toronto head on as Environment Canada just revised its forecast, here's some brief info: All numbers are LOWs

- Environment Canada's old forecast: Toronto next Tuesday -13C(8.6F) <-- Missed
- Enviroment Canada's revised forecast: Toronto next Tuesday -21C(-5.8F) <-- Head on, will wipe out all the hardiest windmill palms with trunks if not protected
- Enviroment Canada's revised forecast: Windsor next Tuesday -11C(12.2F) <-- Missed

Plus windchill which will make it feel much colder than the temperatures.

"Normally" Windsor is 1 or 2 degrees C warmer than Toronto International Airport (suburb, not downtown).

I still prefer Vancouver BC or Victoria BC or Brookings OR as they are milder in the winter compared to southern Ontario, and I could grow more variety of palms such as these beautiful Canary Island Date Palms in my front/backyards in Brookings.

Brookings for me.

While Windsor has nicer summers, it also has 5-6 months of winter.

Any sunshine stats for Brooking? Since it isn't that far from Northern California, I'm guessing Brookings is sunnier than Windsor.
