That's what I used as well in the winter before they adopted this law here.
The only people with true summer tires here are people with expensive sports cars, etc. And even so, those people don't drive their luxury vehicles in the winter. They put them in storage for the season.
Spending half a year in South America I realized that I'm ready to say "Bye Felicia" to the monstrous winters of the Northeast US. I don't miss snow, freezing lows, dead landscapes, or winter coats one bit
I've seen advertisements for winter tyres here but I don't know anyone who uses them.
I was surprised to discover that winter tyres are mandatory in Germany but not Poland.

That's one reason I'd hate to live in a year-round warm climate. I like getting the chance to wear winter coats, boots, beanies, sweaters etc.
Calling Leeds warm in January is a bit of a stretch unless you're an Eskimo/Inuit*
* = Not sure if all people from Barrow to Kuujjuaq are Inuits...
I don't think he was calling Leeds warm in January lol. He was saying that's why he WOULD hate a year-round warm climate....
