But no, that's a good proposal. Scandinavian design is my favourite - simple, no fuss. If you want to see what a skyline looks like when nearly every building is trying to grab your attention by being 'different', look to London. Not good imo.

That's one of the very few things she said that really hit the nail, and I'll happily quote it. And as I said before, I think she is an interesting character.
Nice areas. Both of them. But plaster the seams between the precast elements on the facade. They are compulsory here now. Believe it, it will look much nicer and if you don't, you'll regret it in 10 years time.
In the first [Californian] or the second [upstate New York] link?
Also, do the trees in the first link look like they could pass for Scandinavia ? I've thought Californian forests often look very northern given their latitude.
20 Frenchurch Street and that odd building with the 3 fans at the top (in Elephant and Castle I think) are very bad.
The others are okay, but what's wrong with a simple boxy skyscraper?
Skyscraper? What's that?
The tallest building here in York, other than the Minster at 70m, is around 10 floors. I'd Ike to see some taller office buildings, but it will never happen here. Unfortunately 10 floors is the max height here, and that can only happen in certain areas where they can't block certain views of the Minster. There have been a lot of 5 and 6 floor buildings built in recent years, particularly in Piccadilly, Walmgate and Hungary, but that's still very small.
Leeds seems to do alright for relatively tall buildings, by UK standards anyway. They generally seem good quality with some nice designs too.

Some of the ones proposed are really good, hope they see the light of day.
