Turku has a real castle. It's not maybe that beautiful, but at least it's not fake or kitch.

Wales is the castle capital of the world, although most of them are ruins, and built mainly for military purposes rather than as extravagant palaces.

One near me isn't looking too bad for a 700 year old structure:
