18-19 cm (~7.3 inches) for the whole season.

Ridiculous.

You can add 6-7 cm to the total from November.

Only Northern Karelia, Northern Ostrobothnia and Lapland has vaaras = areas who were above sea level during and after the ice age. Here they are mäkis. Mäki = hill.

2 Maps..

If winter ended today we would have about normal snowfall across this state.. October snow curse over?

Hartford 42.6"
Providence 38.2"
Boston 32.4"
Islip 31.9"
Bridgeport 29.8"
NYC 20.5"
Philly 8"

This months snowfall total. Almost 2 feet for Hartford. More on Long Island than Caribou Maine...Probably not after today. lol

The last storm pushed us alot closer to our yearly average here in Pittsburgh. Still about 6 or 7" behind but much closer now. With all the thaws we've had its not sticking for long now anymore. December started off the winter pretty good, but it's been difficult to keep a consistent snowpack.

10 cm/4 inches, and nothing lasting more than a few hours, so another poor winter for snow cover.

A decent year's snowfall is anything above 30 cm, but we did go from 7 cm to 33 cm after 1st March last year though so there's still plenty of time.

It ends this week. See my post in Winter thread. In fact, it ended yesterday for us. Maybe not for Maine. Thursday another big snowstorm for them. but we're done for snow this month.. Rain next week.

But thanks for the thought. I'll have to check where we stand as far as February extremes.
