As posted by the National Weather Service in:

Melbourne, FL:

Record High of 88 in Vero Beach today, February 18, 2008. One degree from tying the all-time February high of 89 last set on February 22, 2003.

Record high of 88 in Melbourne today, February 18, 2008. Eighth day this February that Melbourne has hit at least 80.

I also wanted to point out that, as of today, the cities indicated below are averaging the following highs and lows for this February (I've also included the departure from normal in parentheses):

Miami: 81.6/67.8 (+6.1)

Ft. Lauderdale: 80.3/68.1 (+6.4)

Marathon: 83.1/72.2 (+7.1)

Key West: 79.9/70.8 (+5.0)

We all know Florida is warm, but to see these numbers in February is fascinating to me. Also, in Denver, we won't likely see the 80s for several months (typically in April we'll see our first 80).

Oh, I love the weather in Fla.

It's so opposite of the way it's been here. Sat. was our first day in over a week that we had average temps and Sun. we went back into the freezer again. Many days of our winter have been 20 degrees below average and even colder.

Right?!?!?! I could use a good 85 or so right about now. I'm SO ready for green grass, green leaves and hot temps. Ugh.

I would give anything to move to Florida. I can't stand when temps drop below 60.

Me too, but at least in S.C. more than half the year's above 60 F. (annual average)
We only have 4-4.5 months at 60 F or higher.
