It's hot all year so you can enjoy the beach better. There are still cold fronts that can reach Progreso.

Also the rain is mainly in the fall/winter in Oranjestad but summer in Progreso. If I go to the beach I don't want any rain! My favorite climates are Mediterranean. Around Thanksgiving/Christmas you are more likely to get rain so it kind of gives a nice holiday feel. But I want sun the rest of they year.

I understand what you mean. But Oranjestad is deep into the tropics, so it may not matter which months the rain falls in, unlike Med climates, which are farther away from the equator.

I think it's more the uniformly warm temps that I like the best...
