Morning on Mt. Washington. 67°F at sunrise at 4000 feet, both the valley bottom at 1600 feet and the summit were 58°F. No wind on the summit. Big evening dewpoint drop from in the evening. As the sun went down, humid surface air stopped rising and mixing in? Perhaps the topography allows humid air to mix in more?

warmest spot at 850 mb in the US is right near the US- Canadian border in upstate NY, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine (exception two small spots, one on the central California coast, and another on the Mexican border by New Mexico). That level is at an elevation of 1540 m or 400 m below the summit of Mt. Washington

700 mb heights also peak there. No wind

Cool down coming though

Good good let the positive anomalies flow thru you

Another beautiful day but my room feels hot enough to power a ****ing steamboat. This house really really sucks at the whole "warm weather" thing

Quoting post #1328

What the hell model is that? I hugely beg to differ on it for the 6-10 day forecast, as NOAA is calling for temps 2°C+ from average here during that period, while that model shows quite the negative anomaly for us in contrast...
