moist air mass with the storm warmed up Mt. Washington followed by a temperature crash. Not that windy yet, should start blasting soon. Odd the wind is not much faster up there than on the surface further south. Not much pressure contrast up north or aloft?
Berlin, NH in the valleys is reporting -6°F and snow. This guy in the Green Mountains reported snow at even colder temperatures
Newfoundland and Northeastern Nova Scotia are rather exempt from the North American cold wave/Hudson Bay polar air outbreak this morning, to say the least! What's also worth noting is that offshore areas from New York City dozens of miles from the shore are -10°C, with even offshore areas dozens of miles off 38°N being at -6°C!
yea, it's a really potent cold air mass and strong wind is letting it penetrate further. temperature map further north gives a good perspective on where the cold/warmth is via @rcbstormpost
