Weird. October and December are the only months with slightly cooler highs. But lows are still warmer for Oct, so must be more cloud cover. I do think the PNW storm season has shifted slightly earlier over the years.

To provide some context: if this setup is correct, the only part of the US southeast warmer than Alberta the morning of the 26th would be South Florida.
Gotta love how these Polar Vortex’s like to pick on the east ....
meanwhile the west above normal as per usual

The eastern half of North America is becoming a cold lover’s paradise

Coldest low of the winter so far in Bowling Green, KY is 16 F / -9 C... set on November 28, three days before the start of the winter.

Forecast to drop to 15 F / -9 C tonight and 14 F / -10 C on the morning of Friday, January 25.

This winter reminds me of 2014-2015. Cold mid-late November, warmer than average December, average January with a couple of cold waves... will a frigid February follow?

February 2015 got to negative 7 in Bowling Green.

Thanks. The average temp increase in January has been pretty insane over the years. Same goes for the decline in snowfall.

We need a Jan 1950 or 1969 repeat.
