actually, tvdxer is correct ---------by Lake Superior
(from the Duluth News Tribune )-------" head down to the Lake Superior waterfront today where the 3PM Sky Harbor Airport was a brisk 45 degrees" " Want it warmer ? At the same time the temperature at the Duluth International Airport was 87"
I apologize for my earlier post, as the temp swing was over 40 degrees just between the 2 airports in Duluth based on their proximaty to Lake Superior,
That's the way it is here, sometimes they use Manitowoc airport and it rarely applies to Two Rivers! I get my temps from a website "Cooler Near the Lake", its great! The local news always breaks it down, but on the net it varies.
Living in NE Illinois, I always paid attention to Kenosha weather rather than local forecasts that gave temps at O'Hare!
I remember seeing that on the weather maps. Duluth was colored dark blue and Minneapolis was a bright pink on the temperature map. That must have been one strong front.
Even this morning (Wednesday) it was like in the lower 70s in southern Minnesota and it was in the 40s in northern Minnesota and it was in the 50s well south of Minnesota.
The weather has been very unusual for MN. I noticed yesterday that the St. Cloud airport reported blowing dust and low visibilities. I guess the airport is surrounded by cornfields?
