Ok. I have (private company) @ City of Turku network, and it's 24€ a month at 100 mb, works perfectly. But I don't get TV with it. So I don't watch TV...
The UK Met Office operating costs in 2012: £227 million, £2.64 per person
The FMI (excluding space exploration) operating costs in 2012: £60 million, £11.1 per person
Remember to vote for more hardware on meteorology next time!
Well, if we gain access to more stats we can get more info! Like in the Oklahoma vs London snow thread.
Duh...
AND, I would like to know the reaction when you address a future Liberal candidate saying "I'm not interested in hospitals, what's your view on the Met Office budget?"
Nobody cares about the Met Office budget except weather enthusiasts. It isn't a matter of urgency as far as most people are concerned. Everyone cares about hospitals, schools, care homes and other boring stuff. Let's get real here - I am healthy, no longer in education and not elderly, so why do I give a crap about those things? I only care about the Met Office budget.
Next year, I will propose raising the Met Office budget by 500% to £1,362,000,000 or roughly £22 per person.

Well, that's the point, isn't it? All those seniors complaining about their pensions and you turn up only demanding an increase in the Met Office budget...
Or me. The next time we have an election I ignore those talks on the street about more student loans, affordable housing, more jobs for the youth... I'm just gonna slash the Prime Minister in his face and say "hey, don't care about that, we need more money for the FMI".
