I'll probably never get married -- but I would pay max $10,000 for it. If I had tons of money lying around I would fork it over to get a custom Elie Saab dress; that would be my 'dream dress.' But most important thing though is to go by the look of the dress itself, not the designer or the price tag. If the dress was $500 and fit like a glove, looked good. I'd have no problems buying that one.

I do notice with wedding dresses that you get what you pay for most of the time.

Mine whole wedding as well!

I paid $99 for my dress, since it was a floor model that was 2yrs old

We didn't pay $1500 for the whole wedding and reception, lol! Right at $1200 I think for 75 people. That included my dress and my bridesmaid's dress and her shoes and accessories, his tux rental (and purchase of the fedora to go with it), his brother's tux rental, the flower girl's outfit, all the flowers, the whole reception (decorations, food, cakes, etc...) locations, license and the JOP fee.

$80, 6 years ago, and it was a prom dress. I'm in moving mode this week and just packed it up. It's way to frilly to wear for any other event at my age, but I can't part with it.

If you watch "Say Yes to the Dress" the average seems to be about $3000, this is in the South. Surprises me, but everyone has their own taste. If it was in my budget, maybe. I only spent $800 almost 20 years ago and I thought that was a lot!

If you're paying more than 1k, it either has to be the brand name or you're getting scammed?

Also, just remember you'll be wearing it for a total of a few hour to a day...depending on the type of wedding you have.

Focus on having a great time and enjoying the time with all the great family and friends. It's about making awesome memories, not material items.

Also some wedding dresses in other countries offer way better value than the us. Looks good and priced well with excellent materials.

The weddings people remember the best are the ones where the have the best time, the most laughs...etc...

I'd spend more on a pro makeup artist and a pro hairstylist. Also make sure you have the proper undergarments to help up your game to the max.

The most important day of your life thus far.....don't buy the hype. have a good time.

I had a nice gown for $120, light blue with sparkles, with a scarf (non specifically wedding), and wore it after for a family member's wedding and such. It was meant to be reusable. Why should it be always white and "bride looking"? I had a friend who got married in a trouser suit for women.
