SunFest lineup was released today, which includes the following so far:

Weezer
Ben Harper
B52s
ZZ Top
The Flaming Lips
Pattie LaBelle
Maze, featuring Frankie Beverly
Flogging Molly
Charlie Daniels

Other acts: Shinedown, Rise Against, Damian Marley, Nas, Five For Fighting, Sister Hazel, Better than Ezra, Marcus Miller and Classic Albums Live.

SunFest lineup: Weezer, B-52s, more make up eclectic lineup*|*Palm Beach Entertainment: Events, movies, restaurants, nightlife & more | pbpulse.com (http://www.pbpulse.com/music/sunfest/2010/03/01/sunfest-serves-up-possibly-its-most-eclectic-mix/ - broken link)

A little heavy on the "alternative" sounds this year, but decent. They need a Top40 draw to make it more balanced and bring in the largest crowd. There's still time to announce, however, so we'll see in the coming weeks.

Me, too! I was driving back to Jax from a recon trip and a radio station was playing songs from the groups that will be performing. It will make the move much easier for my kids- I can bribe them with tickets- LOL!

sunfest,,LOL AKA (scamfest) in the 18-1/2 yrs i been here i attended sunfest once & swore never to go back, though seeing Charlie Daniels is tempting i see him often. So i won't even attend to see him again.
In this economy, say for a family of 4 to enjoy entertainment, food, drink @ the whoopie do wow kool sunfest would cost hundreds.I think in this economic climate that family would be more concerned as to provide for what is needed, than pay 12.00 for a hamburger with a drink, just to be cool & say they attended sunfest.People who have been here longer than I and the "proud" natives tell me when it was free it was alot more enjoyable & a real family day out and a quality family oriented function.Like everything else in this County what was good has now become, profitable, corrupt & driven by greed. Yes & work has picked up.

Well as a "proud" native I can tell you I'm going to be there with a bunch of other "proud" natives. I agree that it's not cheap, but for the acts they have it's worth the money this year. I don't recall anyone forcing families to go and have "$12 hamburgers". If they can afford it, they will be there. Would you rather have the government subsidize food and admission so everyone can get in free?

Most of the major festivals that I attend with family are still free. The Delray Affair, Lake Worth Street Painting, and most everything else in downtown WPB doesn't cost a dime.

If you are a native you know that the only thing constant here is change. Been happening since my family moved here in the 30's. Just might not be the change you like...

You can pick up a five day pass for $50. That's a pretty good deal. I spend more than than on lunch per week. If you don't want to eat the food inside the fair, there is a multitude options up and down Clematis, and around Cityplace.

Then again, maybe you're approaching it from an odd angle. Who in their right mind goes to Sunfest "just to be cool & say they attended sunfest" ????

This looks like a lot of fun. I live up in St. Augustine, is it worth the trip down for a nice weekend? I already have a hotel room on hold. Just want to make sure its worth the trip. Obviously the food and drinks are going to be overpriced, but I dont get to take too many vacations and this sounds like a fun weekend get away, thoughts?
