I grew up in Ronceverte during the 1980's, but have only been back a few times over the years. Lewisburg definitely has changed since then. All the stores have been closed and replaced by artsy-fartsy galleries.

The prize is that the winning city gets a featured spread in Budget Travel magazine and that is usually followed by economic boost due to an increase in tourism. Look at Fayetteville and how it has grown the past 5 years. Also, you can put a sign up on both ends of town stating you are America's Coolest Town.
