BLUEFIELD — With the arrival of warmer weather, police have started operations near the state line to curb prostitution.
With the weather breaking and the temperatures getting warmer, prostitution activities start attracting attention.
“Actually, we did a sting a couple of weeks ago, and we arrested two of what we call ‘Johns’ or customers,” said Sgt. G.W. Lightfoot of the Bluefield Police Department.
“We’ve had some complaints on it and we plan on doing some more in the future. We’re aware of the situation and we are working on it.”
Mercer County Sheriff Don Meadows said while prostitutes may be out now, his department has not received many complaints so far this spring.
“You know, I haven’t seen them out. My guys haven’t mentioned them out,” he said. “I doubt if they quit practicing the trade. They don’t seem to be as visible as they’ve been in the past. We used to get lots of calls, but not now. I know Princeton has worked hard on that.”
I was born in Princeton and lived there until we moved to Ohio in 1963. We visited family afterwards, and I still attend family reunions. It saddens me that a once-great small downtown area is filled with druggies and street-walkers. I hope law enforcement can do something about this. The downtown area may never be what is once was with G C Murphy's, A&P, Leggetts, etc, but it can be a great place for unique shops. It is always home.
Maybe the Secret Service could help out with information.
I imagine the Colombian prostitues look a lot better than prostitutes in Mercer WV. Knowing that area of WV I wouldnt be surprised if they were 300 pounds and missing some teeth.
Just because a girl weighs 300 pounds and is missing teeth doesn't mean she isn't cute.
scientifically speaking, there are natural standards in people that make them attractive to potential mates. Part of that is in the shape of the face and the general shape of the body. The other key part is the perceived health of the individual, and being morbidly obese and missing teeth would probably greatly damage that perception.
