Couple points I'll make... Anyone can vote... Any illiterate backwoods bible thumping joe with 7 kids and a beautiful single wide trailer with a shiny 1989 Silerado in the driveway... He sees signs along the road put up by out of state political action committees saying that Obama has started a war on coal... Also, word of mouth from
Jim Bob says Obama loves the purse toting homosexuals and pastor John Ray says Obama is a baby killer... Down the street Betty Mae walked by a newspaper stand from a Republican orientated newspaper and sees how the new healthcare reform is turning America into a socialist dictatorship.

Now the funny thing about this is... Not one of these people have any understanding of the political system or any knowledge about it, let alone the ability to comprehend it... Yet they all have the ability to vote. : ).

I really hate to say it but a lot of WVians are afraid of progress... They love regressive policies... And will listen to just about any good ole boy or conservative ding bat because they believe they are preserving the WV of life... When in reality the good ole boys and their bosses keep cashing their checks and hoping that the electorate remains ignorant.

Also key voting blocks for the democratic party are hard to come by in WV. Young people, minorities, educated whites.... Here is hoping that maybe one day we will get our stuff in order and become progressive instead of regressive

"Progessive" West Virginia. I hope not. I already left one "progressive" state to move here to take a job. "Gottaherdon" As you call them "illiterate backwoods bible thumping joe with 7 kids and a beautiful single wide trailer with a shiny 1989 Silerado in the driveway" I hope they continue to keep "progressive" radical liberals out of here. I know you might consider that stupid and backwards because it doesn't agree with you and yours. I lived in state that is now "progressive" and didn't care for it, and know for a fact that by far I was not the only one.
