I am moving from Manassas, VA to Arcadia Springs development in Martinsburg, WVA. I commute to Windsor Mill, MD twice/week which is just off intersection of Rte 29 & Rte 70 in MD. I may also have to commute to Tysons Corner, VA once/month. How close is the MARC train to Arcadia Springs? What other commuting options are optimal? Really appreciate your insights.

I don't use the MARC train system, but I believe that you can catch the train at Shenandoah Junction. That looks to be within 10 miles or so of Arcadia Springs, which is close to the VA Center. Shenandoah Junction is right off of Rt 9 between Martinsburg and Charles Town. There may be a MARC train station in Martinsburg that is closer to you, but I'm unfamiliar with it if there is.

I commute into Herndon from just south of Charles Town, a commute of around 50 miles. Leaving home at 5:30 am and I can be there in an hour. You could follow the Greenway to the toll road to Tysons, and probably add another 15 minutes onto my hour commute. It all depends on what time you have to commute into Tysons.

I don't travel over into Maryland, so I can't offer any insight there. You could follow Rt 9 into Charles Town and catch Rt 340 over to Frederick, MD. The intersection onto 270 is right there. Both Rt 9 and Rt 340 (for the most part) are four lane highways, so I would guess that traffic flows fairly well.

Good luck.
