Reviving this thread I hope the wrestling is continuing in West Virginia. This particular area I believe was a Crockett town. Also Poffo's ICW and the Fuller group ran here at different points in the 70's and 80's.
Back in 1992 Smokey Mountain Wrestling(SMW) had a show in the Welch Armory. I was there, front row, for all the action. Jim Crockett was there as well.
There were several Indy shows always goin on SWV, that's where Jamie Noble(former WWE Cruiserweight Champion) from Hanover,WV got his start.
Shirley Love hosted a Saturday night wrestling show from Oak Hill on Channel 4 WAY back in the 1960's.
