well'ive done a lotta searching and ive made up my mind to settle in shinnston.Been traveling through the area for some time and have grown to love it.I believe it'll be perfect for my semi-retirement and much quiter and safer than my current home here in savannah ga.just counting the days!

id really recommend against shinnston. the town itself is dead. prescription drug abuse and meth are rampant (found a discarded meth lab on the side of the road a while back while doing adopt-a-highway). i don't see any saving graces of shinnston. bridgeport or clarksburg or slightly out of town are MUCH better options.

i wouldn't really worry about my personal safety. people tend to not be violent and crime isn't prevalent but you might end up associating with um... less than desirable characters in town at gas stations, loitering, etc.

If you are musically inclined, I'm extending an invitation to play in the Shinnston Community Band...about 95 musicans of many vocations and professions..
Our rehearsals are beginning now for the summer season and it's a lot of fun. Practice is at Lincoln High School, Tuesdays at 7 pm.
