We will likely be Scarsdale residents (zoned for Scarsdale schools) and understand that Scarsdale residents can park at the Hartsdale station for $350 per quarter. (Both are roughly equidistant from where we will be driving.) Does anyone know what Scarsdale charges for Scarsdale residents?
Does anyone know of waiting lists/availability for the two stations?
Also, can anyone speak to other pros/cons of selecting either station?
With the Hartsdale station, I'd imagine that getting a seat is easier in the morning. To what extent, if any, is getting a seat a challenge at both stations?
There is no wait list for Scarsdale. We paid roughly $1200 for the year for a parking permit. Didn't know you could get a permit at Hartsdale...
Yes, it is much better to get on at Hartsdale than Scarsdale, especially on those packed morning trains that only stop at those 2 stations. You WILL get a seat at Hartsdale, not necessarily at Scarsdale.
Not sure what other pros/cons there could be, other than the fact that the train ride to/from Scarsdale is 5 minutes shorter.
