Likely been 6 or 7 years since I spent time there. Those years ago, the casino was the big thing (of course). I noticed a huge building boom in that area.
The "downtown proper" of Cherokee, remained a few exits, with some cool, some tacky shops (
).
As a kid, I remember the skylift, the dancing/piano playing chickens, and the former pro-wrestler, who had the "wrestling bears." All gone, even years ago...

It's still just as tourist oriented as ever. And they don't have a real casino.

Well they got rid of the piano playing chickens and dancing bears due I think to it being inhumane to the animals. Its not more commercialized than it ever was just a few different shops since those days. Still beautiful land and nice trout fishing.
