The only snow has been in the higher elevations like Beech Moutain Even that is unusual for October. We have broken some records for cold temps across the state the last few mornings (30, 32 degrees). I'm sure you could follow the weather in Maggie Valley on your computer by googling local weather for the Asheville area

The closest National Weather Service (NWS) monitoring station to Maggie Valley is located in Fletcher, NC. Over the past week, daily highs have averaged 58 degrees and lows of 38 degrees. The NWS station is at 2,103 feet above sea level, while the town of Maggie Valley is at 3,020 feet. Because Maggie Valley is 917 feet higher, temperatures are a bit cooler. No snow has been reported in either location as of yet.

I don't know about the last few days but I know there is a huge difference in temps from the eastern part of the state and Maggie Valley. We left here in the east one morning in April and it was over 70 degrees. I had on a sundress. When we got to Maggie Valley that afternoon, it was near freezing and the locals laughed at us when we got out to use the telephone nearly freezing to death standing there and they were expecting snow that night. So it is suppose to be colder here tonight than normal. Right now it is 55 in the east. If it is going to be down to freezing here tonight, God help the western part of the state.
