Does anyone know which counties in Western North Carolina spray for mosquitoes with adulticide pesticides?

Thank you!

The only time that I see mosquitos now days is when I travel back to NYC in the summer. Not many here in Asheville.

Why do you have such doubts?

Thanks!

Mainly because I have never heard of such since I've been here. Also, I don't know of a bug problem here to warrant such.

Most adulticide pesticides are either organophosphates or synthetic pyrethroids. Both classes of pesticides are shown to have developmental neurotoxicity issues. As I have an 8 month old, I don't want to be anywhere near the stuff. I know many counties in NC do spray adulticides for mosquitoes so I need to be careful which county I look to reside in.

Too cold for mosquitoes to be a major problem up here. Also, there's just a lack of standing water.

Go down south (DEEP south) and you'll see why they spray in places like Louisiana. Hot, muggy, swampy.

If that's true then it's most likely down towards the coast. Stupid IMO. The only spraying that goes on around here, as far as I know, is on farm fields. Aerial spraying (crop dusting) may still be done in some places.

I must correct the misconception, I can't speak for other counties but I'm pretty sure that Hendersonville sprays for mosquitos. Twice this summer there was a truck that rolled through my neighborhood and it sprayed out some sort of fog. That fog hung over my area like a blanket for 30 minutes or so. I didn't dare go outside after they sprayed. I have no idea what it was that they sprayed but I know, I don't see too many "skeeters"

Also, on a side note, I saw that truck 4 or 5 times last summer.
