Welcome!
Good eye you have...

We spent 5 yrs full time at our Mtn home, and there were some kick azz winters then: 2001-2005.

SW FL is 'ok', but packed/boring/'burbs/more hot these days and I look forward to getting back on the Mtn.

But, my CEO likes our FL joint, so 'we like it'.

We had a couple very light snows before we migrated, mid November, but western NC is due for some real winter. Be safe, dodge TheCooties and the idiot drivers.

Days, weeks, months of nearly daily rain/soakers here on The Mtn...

Our mtn ridge makes its 'own weather' and we have had more than our share of near daily rains this 'summer' season.

A storm approaching from across the valley/6,000 ft peaks, Mt Pisgah and The Cold Mtn, and a remarkable post storm sunset, sun from 'behind' us, hitting the post storm clouds.

Thanks for looking!
GL, mD

So would you say this summer was more wet/rainier than usual?

Too vague...our very local microclime is 'mountains affected weather', which can produce near constant rains and heavy rain on 'our mtn', while down below in town and surrounding lower elevations it can be less rain/sunny and 10+ degs cooler any time of day or night.

We have not had a Trop Storm or an 'arm' of a 'Cane yet this year, which can add considerable precip to us and our area, and skew the precp totals a bit.

But, we have had a very, very rainy wet 'Summer' thus far and half a foot of rain since Sat night.

Maybe a dozen days of No Rain in the past couple months.

We are in a temperate hardwood rain forest, I get it, but sort of tired of the continual v wet April through early October 'summers' here.

But, western NC's topo and micro climes preclude saying, "Yes/No more/less wet than usual", and pay no attention to the 'official' TV precip vis a vis the station at the AVL airport: least precip in the entire state.
