That is always backed up on I-26W. I've had it take longer to get from that exit to the Asheville Outlets than all the way back from Greenville to there. Hopefully this improves it.
To be clear, this is the replacement of the bridge southeast of the I-40/I-240 interchange near Biltmore, not the new bridge closer to downtown that's part of the separate I-26 connector project.
They have started to clear trees from Hendersonville towards asheville a few weeks ago and the traffic stops for no reason that I see other then rubbernecking. Took 40 min a few weeks back just to get to Airport road.
NCDOT and FHWA have released the Final Environmental Impact Statement for the future I-26 Connector in Asheville. FHWA is expected to issue the Record of Decision this summer.
