Okay, somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but the last time I was at Western Carolina it was in Cullowhee, NOT Candler. Candler is on the outskirts of Asheville, about a 15 minute ride, but I don't really find it much different than Canton.
If in fact you have made a mistake and you are really taking about Western Carolina's campus in Cullowhee, that's just over an hour to Asheville on two lane roads.

Apparently WCU does have a nursing program in Candler. Well, like I said, the drive from there to Ashville is about 15 minutes though sometimes longer because the traffic can be really heavy.
