I run an inter-regional house cleaning referral agency and am considering expanding into the Wichita area. From what I've read it's a slower paced city, mid income or a bit below. Family size seems about average.

Typically our best markets are 2 income families, single men (no interest in cleaning), older/retired people (can't do it themselves), or single mothers (no time). Based on the demographics of the city I think single moms and maybe older people are the best targets in Wichita.

Do you guys agree? The one demo I'm getting antzy to delve into further is the potential of the 2 income families, we get good business from them in some areas but it doesn't seem like Wichita has that kind of economy/culture.

Thanks

Getting involved in Wichita is biggest mistake you can make unless you were told to come here and buy out someone who got ruined...then you get it. Is good thing the house cleaning business has low overhead with just minimal equipment and some chemicals, maybe fleet vehicles. I definitely hope you rented housing/offices here ... Only good advice to know, the business networking is ruined ESTABLISHED members who are USED UP and left with no ability to work locally and ruined if caught networking at national level with these business networking organizations. IF you can find an okay niche in Wichita, ALWAYS advised to keep two homes where you are known to the locals so you can leave Wichita quietly when you have finally had enough...Getting involved in social stuff to network had some Boeing engineers who moved to Wichita alone being mistresses to remain able to work in Wichita & function. $45+ hour couldn't defend herself alone in Wichita...If open to picking up a relationship, can latch onto something but these men have snapped and would harm their own families if GAWD demands it. Isn't psychopaths, these are predators, trashers, baby killers and cops/court/politics who don't care about the females or families. Just end up running away from trouble here, keep quiet when you leave and some get ruined at multiple stops after leaving Wichita quietly and moving away...Many had to live with family or friends in guest room to be able to move away from Wichita, leave alone and will be ruined or victimized at your next stop and this curse lasts 15 years sometimes. Moving from Wichita to rural area or KC can result in ruin, even for a well employed professional is just how the scams run here...better to plan to move days drive away if you find this problem. Some have been screwed at multiple moves and forced into coming back to Wichita to remain for a while with NO WORK available to them after BLACKBALLS and business networking that went so nuts, they look people up to screw them for working with any public contact.

Pooper scooper guy who had good enough business to pay his way through college doing it in 1990s and house his family in $150k house was ran out of town after his customers were screwed with en mass. Told he could stay here as a schizo or sell off the business clientele for pennies and take his chances at whatever else somewhere else...

KC is still 'normal' for the most part and MUCH BETTER FINANCIALLY in Johnson County and over by Lees Summit, MO and eastward. Would look that direction...rest of state is just a bunch of dirty business deals running in small town areas and even dirty cops who ruin new female residents to put with drug dealers & cops keep them locked up there...I would only check out other parts of KS if you have connections.

Exception is Manhattan. Area is thriving nicely but can NEVER complain about mistreated by landlord, get targeted for crime. Can sell house cleaning to the wealthy slobs at the college pretty well and pretty good economy there running normals for customers amongst the professional adults...

Area called the Flint Hills is harming new business & people who can manage to pay their bills. Would skip it unless you are DR or college professor. Politics too bad to bother with even if invited. Otherwise has some money, tourists, green peace and artsys, may think it a good place to sell your service, but many changed their minds quietly and make lies then leave.
