Hello,

My wife and I are looking to relocate to Beaver Dam, WI from Maryland. She is a grade school teacher and also has a Masters in the Library Media Specialist field. I am in sales at a mid size printing company. (I realize that industry is dwindling so I may be looking for something else.) Anyway, does anyone have any thoughts or advice for living, raising kids, or finding jobs in the Beaver Dam area? It looks like a wonderful place. Thanks.

There are/were several openings posted for jobs in the Beaver Dam school district. As far as other jobs, you might have to drive out of town, but we're only 40 miles from Madison and there are a lot of other towns near by.
The school system here is very good. I relocated here 6 years ago from Iowa to get my kids into better schools and because they have one of the best Autism programs in the state.
There are several nice apartment buildings on the edge of town and you can find houses for rent from $600 to $1000 depending.
Check madison.craigslist.org for some listings of houses and apartments, just type in Beaver Dam in the search area when you get to the page and it will pull up everything in the area.
It is a lovely, low crime, place to live.
Good luck to you!

Default Thanks

Thanks for the info. Teaching kids with Autism and Aspergers is another one of the things that my wife has been taking courses on and is interested in. That is very good to know. Appreciate your help.
