Hi, I'm hoping to move to the Appleton with my girlfriend (who is Indian) and I would like to know how big the Indian community is and what Indian businesses are there.

Thanks!

Unless you mean Native American, I dont think you are going to find much of an Indian community in Appleton, WI. I used to live near there in Green Bay and there was little or no diversity. Probably has changed since the 1990's, but doubt if it has changed THAT much.

There is an Indian restaurant called, "Sai Ram" on Northland Avenue in Appleton. The people who own it are some of the nicest people I've ever met... Krishna, Kumari, Shavi, and Neehar. If you're in Appleton in the future, get to know them. I'm sure they can help you with information. They're very welcoming and friendly. There is an Indian grocery on Wisconsin St. and a lovely family owns it and the adjoining restaurant (India Darbar.)
Sorry I don't have information about how much of an Indian community there is in the area. I only know of these three businesses.

I have been to the India Darbar restaurant and it was absolutely amazing! I went there with my wife and I did notice several other Indian families that were also dining in the restaurant.

I've been to Darbar once and it was very good, I agree. (Try Sai Ram, if you haven't yet. They're terrific, too.)

Every time I've been in the grocery store next to the restaurant Darbar, there have been many Indian people shopping, so I assume that there is an Indian community in Appleton. (I wish I were part of it! Turns out, I'm not such a great cook when it comes to Indian food!) :-)
