Wondering if anyone can shed light on the open enrollment process for sending a child to a school outside of the school district we may live in.

Scenario: We may be moving to the Wausau School District, but we want our child to continue to go to the D.C. Everest school district. We won't be moving until June, if we do. Do we need to pay the D.C. Everest School District to have our child go there?

Any info you can contribute is greatly appreciated.

Open enrollment was over in Feb. Not sure how your district would handle it if you move. If you open enroll during Feb it does not cost you anything.

Districts don't have to allow out-of-district enrollments if they don't have any open spots. And each district has a very free hand to determine for itself whether or not it has openings. So you might do well to find out if the Everest school district even has out-of-district openings.
