push my start time to 10am to 6pm instead of 9am to 5pm?-lol It's like being rewarded for being late everyday. She said she wanted to avoid writing me up and since I stay late every night it's better just to have me come in later. I just hope the other coworkers don't get jealous of my new schedule. I do believe other workers will want to change their hours too.

Sure-- until you start pushing the schedule to arriving at 10:15, etc.
I told her I set my alarm for 7:05am which means that the 10am start time gives me a cushion. So I will still arive at my normal time at 9:25am it just won't be considered late anymore. Plus I can sit and eat my breakfast while I have 30-35 ,mins until I'm on the clock.
I can't stand people that aren't punctual. It's a complete lack of professionalism and responsibility. Time is money nowadays. If I ran a company everyone would show up on time ready to work and quit on time ready to go enjoy their lives outside of work. I would only make special accomodations for people with kids etc.
I dunno. I had a similar arrangement with a previous position. Not because I was late, but because the company was forcing me to handle my primary role AND help support a previous job title due to cutbacks. The two were not compatible--one involved detailed spreadsheets and the other involved me wearing a headset and taking calls rerouted from a call center. I couldn't possibly perform both, so I asked to come in a little later, so I could be "plugged in" when they needed me, and then to have a solid 2 hours of quiet time in the early evening without coworkers around so I could do the detailed work without interruption.
I think it's great that your manager is that proactive and flexible. You must perform well once you do arrive, so rather than fire you, she's giving you a chance to stay. A lot of jobs really are only 9-5 out of tradition. The actual work could be done at any time in a 24 hour period or even from home.
