no, I don't have a stealing, dishonest bone in my body and I loved my boss('s). My manager let me bring in my laptop to do my homework on as long as all my tasks were done (since a lot of it was online), when it would get really slow since our store would be dead for hours at a time some days. My district manager came in unannounced one day and saw me doing my homework on it and then told another manager to fire me another time, all after that manager fought to keep me on staff (she valued my work ethic and sales I brought in). I was kept on staff after my other manager fought to keep me and then 3 days later I was let go because my district manager changed her mind. Either way, I take responsibility for it and I realize where I could have done things differently and it doesn't mean I can't do another job. But I don't know how to get around it in my job search when I'm not even given a chance.

Under the terms of employment at-will; an employer can fire you for any reason (barring some public policy exceptions), or no reason; upon proper notice.

From one perspective, you were merely complying with at-will employment laws, as was your previous employer. Why should anyone think anything negative of someone who is willing to be legal to our own laws?
