Where did you go to school? I don't know a single engineer from my school with a PE that isn't making at least that.

I made well less than that at one time and was able to save substantial money each month. I lived in Atlanta, Ga.

It really depends on where you live. Where I live, rent is 500-600 per month for an apartment.

Ouch. I make around 35k and I never really considered myself poor, but I do know that most other people get much higher wages. I'm in Human Resources (though just a Benefits Coordinator), and I thought that was pretty standard.

As a single person, if I didn't have a heckload of student loans (well, 9k remaining now), I would be able to save over half of my income and live on the other half without sacrificing a lot. I do agree that for a single parent or a person of family without any other spousal income, that'd be practically impossible, but I don't mind eating cheap and on small portions and having little to no life. Lol.

I think 27k is a median income are mostly Hispanic/Latino communities. Asians and White are making a lot more.

I was talking per capita, that link seems to be dealing with household income.

they first one is not household figures there are individual income by race and Sex. You can't do household income by Sex. lol
You can go do some research your self. Asians don't come to this country to make 27k a year. Even the HB1 Asian workers are making more than 27k.
