Can't find jobs on Long Island (tips, application, salary, interest)

I have been searching for the past few years. I am trying to find a summer job here on Long Island, NY. I have put my job app in quiet a few places. Is anyone having the same problem as me? I'm a college student, in a few years I'll be involved with my work field, but need just that little side job for now.

When I was looking for college work, I would go to dozens of stores in Roosevelt Field Mall and do a massive application effort.

Then, being the broke, moronic youngster I was, I'd go across the street and steal as many CD's from Tower Records as I could.
