You may be correct in some areas of the country but not in others. My daughter is a P.A. and she does everything a doctor does: diagnoses, writes scripts, performs surgeries, etc. It's very challenging work and P.A.s are in high demand...so much so that she was free-lancing for a while and had more job offers than she wanted. She has the best of both worlds...doing everything a doctor does without having to worry about malpractice insurance premiums.
