I am beginning to think it isn't. I worked hard through college earned a degree that everyone told me was in high demand. I worked full-time and went to school full-time. Now the only job I can find pays less than minimum wage.

I am a good person who would rather not do sex related jobs. Although many people who do sex related jobs are much better off than I. I am stuck living at the parents house and I am tired of it. At least the strippers and people doing porn aren't stuck at their parent's house.

I am beginning to wonder if hard work even matters anymore. It seems like no matter how hard I work, I never get ahead. Maybe I should just get pregnant and become a welfare queen. These women are better off than me. At least they get Section 8 and free healthcare.

I accidently forgot to pay for something at a store, recognized it before I left, and told the cashier I wanted to pay for it. Yet, many criminals get free healthcare and can find jobs on work release.

The military would be an excellent option for me. I have considered lying about my asthma on the enlistment form, but I have symptoms and there is no covering that up.

Don't. Is this the life you really want to lead.it's not all glitz and glamour either. Sure the criminals and others who milk the system get thier benefits. Here's the catch: Most never end up bettering themselves.

I don't know what your degree is in, or where you reside. Have you broadened your search? What industry are you in?

I have seen many folks make it just when they have about given up. It's a one way street though. Giving up guarantees you will not get ahead. I know how frustrating it is, That feeling that the hard work and effort is for naught and that it seems dishonesty and sloth are well rewarded. Look deeper.

u must have a trade
readily available at jr college or military low or no cost.
no PdD necessary thank u. america does not need 20 million more managers.
it does need skilled labor.
my favorite pick is RN.
no advanced degree necessary. certificate only. military provides best surgical field work exp on earth, us army 2nd to none.

If you live at your parents house, good for you. Find a job (any job) and save some $. Don't dwell on the 'should'ves' in your life. Start out with an attainable goal (saving $15k by next year for example) and focus on that.

This is terrible advice, and its why we have so many "Art History" and "Communications" majors working at Burger King paying their whole check out in student loans every month.

My advice is to stop being bitter and start applying to anything and everything you can.

I ended up working overnights at a trucking terminal as my first job after graduating college.

yea it sucked working overnights, but the pay was solid ($20 per hour). After 6 months i applied elsewhere and got hired onto the kind of job I was looking for.

Where do I find that job?

Might have to disagree ... someone may be good at art design or graphic design, but that industry has a really big glut of workers and not enough work.

I went into a new health area because it's extremely in demand. This was after I finished my BS (hah), found literally no jobs, and re-spec'd at a community college w/ internship.

You have to be willing to change your career path. It makes me sad to see a friend who is struggling because there's so much competition, while I'm more in demand because of the area I chose.

If you are physically strong, and durable, why not try getting a job as a rustabout in Williston, ND? The entry pay is pretty good. You can also go to school to learn some of the more technical jobs required for oil drilling, and get paid more. Unless the boom has already ended. But this is the old school young, and hardworking way of making it here in USA. Reminiscent of the gold rushes, "there will be blood", homestead act sorta thing.
