Where I am, it's 100 degrees. Everyday. Every, single, day, it's 100 degrees. It's hot, ridiculously so, and it's humid, so sweat stays around.

I would be told to go home and change. And while it is very hot, we have air conditioning. I would have been cold in the office today with shorts on.

We all wear shorts most of the time. But we work outside. Do you? If not, I don't see the point.

Less clothing tends to be cooler, regardless of environment.

The UPS guys around here wear shorts. Our mail carrier hardly ever is seen outside of his truck so I don't know what he is wearing. I think it depends on the job mostly but probably isn't acceptable in an office environment.

And cooler may not be a good thing if the environment is already cooled.

I'm happy enough to wear blue jeans in our office. Shorts wouldn't matter since our office is air conditioned.

Very seldom. Usually only during times when we are on shutdown and I'm one of only a handful there and we don't expect any visitors. Our office environment is pretty casual but I work in the sales department and try to maintain a somewhat presentable appearance in case we have any current or prospective customers visit.

Our office is air-conditioned so keeping cool at work isn't an issue most of the time anyway, but it is the office of an aluminum foundry so it's hot as Hades out on the shop floor.

That being said, if I would happen to be out on the floor when somebody decides to trip while carrying a pot of molten aluminum I really don't want it splashing on my bare leg so I normally wear jeans if I have reason to believe I'll be out in the shop.

I do. We relax the dresscode here from Memorial weekend to Labor day weekend unless we're having investors drop by... in which case a suit is required.

It would depend on the dress code, my function, and what I had to do that day.
