To directly answer the question...2x/year. I'm a speech-language pathologist who works at a couple of schools. I do have to see my actual coworkers of my same position once a month for our monthly meetings (& that's way too much), but SOCIALLY, we have a Christmas luncheon & an End of the School Year Luncheon. I wish I did't have to go to those, but I go ahead & do it to show that I'm a team player, to show they their extremely haughty attitudes aren't going to scare me away, etc.

Two or three times a year. Everyone is invited but no one is required to attend.

Never. What do you get when you have a group of 15 senior engineers spread across 5 locations and you work for the cheapest company on the planet? Give up? A job with 0 social interaction.

Never.

Once upon a time there were a few people I would drink and smoke pot with.

Also once the central location was closed and most people worked from home, that put an end to the Christmas parties.

Once a month we have a small 30 minute birthday cake thing for everyone with birthdays that month. Small company, maybe 120 employees.
Just had a nice company picnic a couple weeks ago.
I've only been here six months...not sure if there is a holiday thing.

Thankfully none. 8 hours a day of forced social interaction with these weirdos is more than enough time as it is.

Once every two weeks, it seems. Like a lunch thing for the whole office.

I've gone once.

In sales as I often as I choose and with who. At my last employer the floor I worked on had a potluck, or bday cake, or halloween treats.

Let's see, last year we had a wine tasting and snacks at the boss's house, a bunch of us went bowling, and we went to dinner after work once, so that's 3 in 2011. So far nothing this year.

With my situation, there are about 25 of us & it's a field heavily populated by only 1 gender...females. So my group of coworkers have the whole mixture of types: Mostly b-t--es, those on their high horses, the several elderly ones who've had their long careers elsewhere but are back working to keep themselves busy, there's 1 odd ball, a couple of big fakes who'll smile in your face but probably talk about you later, the 2 queen bees who are very tight, the young up & comers who are not really in any clique, but will probably get there fast, & then there's me...the genuinely kind one who no one seems to socialize with really outside of maybe just saying a "Hello, how are you" & then they sit as far away as possible during the monthly meetings. So yeah it's a "fun" group here!

I don't blame you! Thank God I don't have to actually work with the above people daily! We're each assigned to our separate sites.
