Behind Wal-Mart, the second-largest employer in America is Kelly Services, a temporary work provider.

Recovery woes: America's second-largest employer is a temp agency | WashingtonExaminer.com

Would I rather work for Walmart or Kelly Services? Now that's a depressing thought, isn't it?

That's scary, I had to take a temp job when I got the job I have now, but luckily it turned into a full time position with benefits and everything.

I notice a lot of companies going that route now, probably a result of being afraid to offer health insurance and other costs. Doesn't make it right though.

Businesses keep cutting corners to save money while putting out product, that people are starting to NOT buy. My husband and I, although we make good money, we definitely save where we can, we buy used whenever we can, look for sales, shop online, etc, to make our dollars go farther. And in some cases we just do without now. The last time I bought myself a NEW piece of clothing was in January! I buy jeans used for $5 now and shirts for $3.

It'll all come to a head sooner or later, I'm just thankful my family is well off enough so that if something did happen we can rely on each other and get through it, even if we all have to live under my mom's roof to survive until this crazy time is over!

Or you can seek better options than Kelly services and walmart. It's plenty of opportunities out there besides those two employers.

In my field the biggest employers are Kelly, Aerotek, Lab Temps, Experis (Manpower), Medix, Momentum Scientific, and other various Indian staffing agencies. It is also the reason why smart young Americans are turning their noses up at the pospect of a career in many STEM fields particularly science. If you don't value people enough to even hire them at all don't be surprised when they go elsewhere.

Yeah don't feel the need to be a temp or work at a place like Walmart

Depressing, but not surprising.
