Why is it that whenever I fill out an application somewhere (online or in person), I never hear anything. I do dress very well when I go somewhere in person, and I'm always super polite to everyone I talk to. But I never hear anything back. Which results in me never getting to the interview stage. How am I supposed to get one of these hourly jobs when I'm not getting called back?
The worst part is, 2 months later you see the same job reposted, wondering HTH so.
Have you tried changing your approach because your current strategy doesn't seem to be working?
Yes. I'll be seeing vocrehab in October. The CNC training program I want to get into starts in september, but I was told there's another one in spring. I would be getting a NIMS certification

You've mentioned that one of your disabilities prevents you from standing for long hours. How do you expect to endure hours of standing on this particular job, sometimes 10-12 hours a day?

The lower paying hourly jobs requiring less education/experience get flooded with applicants. It would be nice if they responded to all of them but it's just too costly and provides no benefit to the employer, so they don't bother. We always
send a letter to those not advancing to the interview stage but rarely get more than 100 or so applicants due to the years of specific experience required.

Well it sounds like a decent plan now you have to be patient ? Until then you could always get a work from home call center job, I already posted, or check Clark Howard.

Sadly it is a sign of the times.
Since you're applying in person for some of these jobs do you ever go back and do a follow up? If it is store or a restaurant go at a time when they're not too busy and see if you can talk to someone in charge as to a status on your application.
